IATA Renews International Accreditation of Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation

Jeddah: The Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation, an affiliate of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) received a certificate of renewal of its accreditation at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as an internationally accredited training center (ATC).

The Academy confirmed that this achievement reflects the Kingdom’s weight in the field of civil aviation at the international level, and is an extension of the international recognition it has reaped. This is as well as a culmination of the professional work it is doing and its outputs in the field of training.

The accreditation comes after it has met all international requirements and conditions, which will enable it to organize international courses, and will contribute to the Academy’s trainees obtaining internationally accredited certificates, as well as the accreditation of the Academy’s trainers with IATA, stressing that it has achieved one of its strategic goals to become in a sustainable scientific and global position among prestigious peers.

The Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation had recently obtained the accreditation of the Airports Council International (ACI-ATI) as the second training center in the world after the Munich Airport Training Center in Germany.

It also won the seat of the Global Training Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in addition to obtaining the accreditation of the International Council for firefighting and rescue training services and launching the electronic portal for (IFSC) tests to develop the performance of workers in fire stations in various airports around the Kingdom.

In 2021, the Academy was able to train and develop the performance of large numbers of employees of the air transport system, after allocating more than (10) thousand training seats in specialized courses aimed at raising operational efficiency and the level of security and safety at various airports, and it also succeeded in graduating (92) students who were trained for the labor market in the fields of safety and operation of airports, and fire and rescue.
