Male: For two years in a row, India has been the largest tourist source market for Maldives. A total of 291,787 Indian tourists travelled to the island nation in 2021, representing 22 per cent market share, as compared to 222,422 visitors from Russia (17 per cent), according to the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism (MoT).
Indians contributed the largest number of international tourist arrivals to Maldives in 2020 as well.
