Indian Navy Enhances Cooperation with Bahrain and UAE

As part of their Long-Range Training Deployment in the Persian Gulf, INS Tir and ICGS Veera from the First Training Squadron (1TS) docked at the Port of Manama, Bahrain, on October 12. This visit focuses on strengthening naval collaboration and improving interoperability between the Indian Navy and the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces (RBNF) across a range of maritime operations and best practices.

A range of activities is planned during the port call, including professional interactions, cross-ship visits, joint training sessions, yoga sessions, band concerts, friendly sports fixtures, social interactions, and community welfare initiatives. The sea trainees of the Indian Navy will also tour several training facilities and establishments of the RBNF.

Additionally, a coordination meeting between the operational teams of both navies is scheduled to plan and conduct a Maritime Partnership Exercise. The visit will also include training interactions with partners of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) to reinforce maritime security in the region.

In a separate port visit, INS Shardul of 1TS arrived at Port Rashid, Dubai, UAE, where it was welcomed by the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of India and officials from the UAE Navy. During this visit, the ship will engage in multiple training activities and harbour interactions with the UAE Navy.

The deployment of 1TS to Bahrain and the UAE not only provides sea trainees with exposure to various naval training activities but also aims to strengthen socio-political, military, and maritime ties. This visit underscores the growing defence relations between India and both Bahrain and the UAE, enhancing maritime security cooperation and synergy among the navies.
